※ ‘에녹’의 속뜻, 그 가르침이 그렇게 시작되었다, 개시되었다

 

17절, 아내와 동침하매 그가 임신하여 에녹을 낳은지라 가인이 성을 쌓고 그의 아들의 이름으로 성을 이름하여 에녹이라 하니라 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bare Enoch; and he was building a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.

이것이 ‘에녹’이라는 이름을 가졌던, 모든 교리적 혹은 이단적 가르침을 가진 일종의 이단이었다는 건 이 이름을 보면 어느 정도 분명한데요, 이 이름의 의미가 그 가르침이 그렇게 시작되었다 혹은 개시되었다이기 때문입니다. That it was a heresy with all its doctrinal or heretical teaching that was called “Enoch” is in some measure evident from this name, which means the instruction so begun or initiated.

※ ‘아내와 동침하매 그가 임신하여 에녹을 낳은지라’의 속뜻, 이런 스키즘이나 이단이 또 다른 걸 낳음

 

17절, 아내와 동침하매 그가 임신하여 에녹을 낳은지라 가인이 성을 쌓고 그의 아들의 이름으로 성을 이름하여 에녹이라 하니라 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bare Enoch; and he was building a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.

‘아내와 동침하매 그가 임신하여 에녹을 낳은지라’가 이런 스키즘이나 이단이 또 다른 걸 낳았음을 의미한다라는 것은 앞서 언급되어 온 것들로부터, 뿐만 아니라 첫 번째 절에 서술된 ‘아담과 그의 아내 하와가 가인을 낳았다’로부터도 분명하며, 그래서 이제 뒤에 나오는 내용들은 임신 및 해산과 유사한데요, 그게 교회에 속한 것이든 이단에 속한 것이든 말입니다. 그렇게 해서 하나의 계보를 형성했기 때문인데요, 서로 유사하게 연관되기 때문입니다. 하나의 이단이 태동하는 곳에는 한 무리의 이단이 생겨납니다. That “Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and bare Enoch” signifies that this schism or heresy produced another from itself, is evident from what has been previously said, as well as from what is stated in the first verse, that the man and Eve his wife produced Cain; so that the things which now follow are similar conceptions and births, whether of the church, or of heresies, whereof they formed a genealogy, for these are similarly related to each other. From one heresy that is conceived there are born a host of them.

‘아내와 동침하매 그가 임신하여 에녹을 낳은지라’는 말씀은 이런 스키즘이나 이단(schism or heresy)이 또 다른 걸 낳고, 그 이름을 ‘에녹’(Enoch)이라 했다는 뜻입니다. ‘성을 쌓고’는 거기서 나오는 모든 교리적이고 이단적인 가르침을 의미하며, 스키즘이나 이단을 ‘에녹’이라 하였으므로, 이런 가르침을 ‘에녹’이라는 이름, 즉 ‘그의 아들의 이름으로 성을 이름하여 에녹이라 하니라’ 했다는 것입니다. The words “Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bare Enoch” signify that this schism or heresy produced another from itself that was called “Enoch.” By “the city which he built” is signified all that was doctrinal and heretical therefrom, and because the schism or heresy was called “Enoch,” it is said that “the name of the city was called after the name of his son, Enoch.”
