※ 주8. ‘모든 족속들’은 어떤 곳(the complex) 안에 있는 모든 진리와 선, 곧 신앙과 사랑에 속한 모든 걸 상징합니다. “Tribes” signify all truths and goods in the complex, thus all things of faith and love (n. 3858, 3926, 4060, 6335).

7절, 라헬의 시녀 빌하가 다시 임신하여 둘째 아들을 야곱에게 낳으매 And she conceived again, and Bilhah Rachel’s handmaid bare a second son to Jacob.

8절, 라헬이 이르되 내가 언니와 크게 경쟁하여 이겼다 하고 그의 이름을 납달리라 하였더라 And Rachel said, With the wrestlings of God have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed; and she called his name Naphtali.

둘째 아들을 야곱에게 낳으매 A second son to Jacob.

 

That this signifies a second general truth is evident from the signification of a “son” as being truth (see n. 489, 491, 533, 1147). That the signification here is a general truth is evident from what has been said above concerning the twelve sons of Jacob, and the twelve tribes named from them, as being the general things of the church, and accordingly the general things of faith and love, or of truth and good, which are signified and represented by them; and that in the opposite sense are also meant general things not of faith and love, but all things of falsity and evil, will appear hereafter.

 

3927 라헬이 이르되 내가 언니와 크게 경쟁하여 이겼다 하고 And Rachel said, With the wrestlings of God have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed.
