9절, 여호와 하나님이 그 땅에서 보기에 아름답고 먹기에 좋은 나무가 나게 하시니 동산 가운데에는 생명 나무와 선악을 알게 하는 나무도 있더라 And out of the ground made Jehovah God to grow every tree desirable to behold, and good for food; the tree of lives also, in the midst of the garden; and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

그러나 ‘동산의 나무’(the tree of the garden), 즉 퍼셉션, ‘생명나무’(the tree of lives), 즉 사랑과 사랑에서 나오는 신앙, 그리고 ‘선악을 알게 하는 나무’(the tree of knowledge), 즉 감각적인 것에, 그리고 단지 기억-지식일 뿐인 것에 근원을 둔 신앙에 대해서는 이어지는 페이지들에서 말씀드리겠습니다. But the nature of the “tree of the garden,” or perception; of the “tree of lives,” or love and the faith thence derived; and of the “tree of knowledge,” or faith originating in what is sensuous and in mere memory-knowledge, will be shown in the following pages.
