56. 29절, 하나님이 이르시되 내가 온 지면의 씨 맺는 모든 채소와 씨 가진 열매 맺는 모든 나무를 너희에게 주노니 너희의 먹을거리가 되리라 Verse 29. And God said, Behold, I give you every herb bearing seed which is upon the faces of all the earth, and every tree in which is fruit; the tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for food.

 

천적 인간은 천적인 걸로만 아주 기뻐합니다. 그것이 그의 생명과 맞기 때문인데, 이를 일컬어 천적 양식이라 합니다. The celestial man is delighted with celestial things alone, which being in agreement with his life are called celestial food.

 

영적 인간은 영적인 것으로 아주 기뻐합니다. 그 이유 역시, 그것이 그의 생명과 맞기 때문이며, 이를 일컬어 영적 양식이라 합니다. The spiritual man is delighted with spiritual things, and as these are in agreement with his life they are called spiritual food.

 

마찬가지로, 자연적 인간은 자연적인 것을 아주 기뻐합니다. 그에게는 자연적인 것이 맞기 때문인데, 이것이 그에게는 양식입니다. 이 양식은 주로 기억-지식으로 구성됩니다. The natural man in like manner is delighted with natural things, which, being of his life, are called food, and consist chiefly of memory-knowledges.

 

※ 기억-지식은 그 출처가 세상, 세속인 지식으로 학습을 통해서 습득하는 지식입니다.

 

여기서는 영적 인간을 다루고 있으며, 그래서 영적 인간의 영적 양식을 무슨 표상들(表象, representatives)을 가지고 표현하고 있습니다. 바로 ‘씨 맺는 채소’(herb bearing seed), ‘열매 맺는 나무’(tree in which is fruit) 등인데요, 이걸 보통은 ‘씨 가진 나무’(tree yielding seed)라 하지요. As the spiritual man is here treated of, his spiritual food is described by representatives, as by the “herb bearing seed,” and by the “tree in which is fruit,” which are called, in general, the “tree yielding seed.”

 

그의 자연적 양식은 다음 절에서 설명합니다. His natural food is described in the following verse.

 

※ 사람은 영과 육의 존재이므로 영적 양식과 자연적 양식, 둘 다 필요합니다.

 

 

57. ‘씨 맺는 채소’는 쓰임새에 관한 모든 진리, ‘열매 맺는 나무’는 신앙에 속한 선, ‘열매’는 주께서 천적 인간에게 주시는 것, ‘열매 맺는 씨’는 영적 인간에게 주시는 것, 그래서 ‘씨 가진 나무를 너희에게 주노니 너희의 먹을거리가 되리라’ 하신 것입니다. The “herb bearing seed” is every truth which regards use; the “tree in which is fruit” is the good of faith; “fruit” is what the Lord gives to the celestial man, but “seed producing fruit” is what he gives to the spiritual man; and therefore it is said, the “tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for food.”

 

천적 양식을 나무로 말미암는 열매라 하는 건 다음 장을 보면 분명한데요, 다음 장은 천적 인간을 다루는 장이기 때문입니다. That celestial food is called fruit from a tree, is evident from the following chapter, where the celestial man is treated of.

 

이걸 확인하기 위해 우리는 여기서 주님이 에스겔에서 하신 말씀들만 인용하는데요, In confirmation of this we will here cite only these words of the Lord from Ezekiel:

 

강 좌우 가에는 각종 먹을 과실 나무가 자라서 그 잎이 시들지 아니하며 열매가 끊이지 아니하고 달마다 새 열매를 맺으리니 그 물이 성소를 통하여 나옴이라 그 열매는 먹을 만하고 그 잎사귀는 약재료가 되리라 (겔47:12) By the river, upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, there cometh up every tree of food, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed; it is born again in its month; because these its waters issue out of the sanctuary; and the fruit thereof shall be for food, and the leaf thereof for medicine. (Ezek. 47:12)

 

‘그 물이 성소를 통하여 나옴이라’는 ‘성소’이신 주님의 생명과 자비를, “Waters issuing out of the sanctuary,” signify the life and mercy of the Lord, who is the “sanctuary.”

 

‘열매’는 그들의 양식이 될 지혜를, ‘잎’은 그들의 쓰임새, 곧 ‘약재료’라 하는 쓰임새를 위한 지성을 각각 의미합니다. “Fruit” is wisdom, which shall be food for them; the “leaf” is intelligence, which shall be for their use, and this use is called “medicine.”

 

한편, 영적 양식을 ‘풀’이라고 하는 건 다윗의 시편을 보면 나옵니다. But that spiritual food is called “herb,” appears from David:

 

1여호와는 나의 목자시니 내게 부족함이 없으리로다 2그가 나를 푸른 풀밭에 누이시며 쉴 만한 물가로 인도하시는도다 (시23:1-2) My shepherd, I shall not want; thou makest me to lie down in pastures of herb. (Ps. 23:1–2)

(속뜻)

천적 인간은 천적 양식을, 영적 인간은 영적 양식을, 각각 자신의 생명에 맞는 것을 자신의 양식으로 삼습니다. 주님은 거듭남의 완성 단계에 이른 사람에게 이처럼 천적, 영적 양식을 주시는데, 곧 모든 선과 진리이며, 이 진리로 말미암아 사람은 자신의 쓰임새를 발견하는 영적 지혜를, 이 선으로 말미암아 사람은 천적 열매를 각각 발견하며, 맺게 되는 것입니다. 거듭남이 마무리되어 가는 사람에게 주님은 그에 합당한 양식을 풍족히 주십니다.
