태고교회가 어떻게 쇠락의 길을 걷게 되었는지는 퍼셉션이 무엇인지를 알기 전까지는 설명할 수가 없습니다. 태고교회는 퍼셉션이 있었던 교회였고, 오늘날엔 그런 교회가 존재하지 않기 때문입니다. 한 교회의 퍼셉션은 이런 것으로 구성됩니다. 곧 그 교회의 구성원들은 주님으로 말미암아 마치 천사들처럼 선악을 구별합니다. 이 선악은 사람들 사는 시민 사회의 선악과 같은 것이 아니고, 주님 사랑과 주님 신앙에 속한 선악을 말합니다. 생활로 확인되는 신앙고백을 통해 퍼셉션이라는 것이 무엇인지, 그리고 그것이 얼마나 존재하는지 여부를 알 수 있는, 그런 것입니다. How the most ancient church decreased cannot appear unless it be known what perception is, for it was a perceptive church, such as at this day does not exist. The perception of a church consists in this, that its members perceive from the Lord what is good and true, like the angels; not so much what the good and truth of civic society is, but the good and truth of love to the Lord and of faith in him. From a confession of faith that is confirmed by the life it can be seen what perception is, and whether it has any existence.
