1481. 15절, 바로의 고관들도 그를 보고 바로 앞에서 칭찬하므로 그 여인을 바로의 궁으로 이끌어들인지라 Verse 15. And the princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house.

‘바로의 고관들도 그를 보고’, ‘바로의 고관들’로 표현된 중심계율들을, ‘바로 앞에서 칭찬하므로’, 그들이 즐거워하였음을, ‘그 여인을 바로의 궁으로 이끌어들인지라’, 그들이 마음의 보다 낮은 부분에 매혹되었음을 각각 의미합니다. “The princes of Pharaoh saw her” signifies the primary precepts, which are “the princes of Pharaoh”; “and they praised her to Pharaoh” signifies that they were pleasing; “and the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house” signifies that they captivated the lower mind [animus].

1482. 바로의 고관들도 그를 보고 The princes of Pharaoh saw her.

이 말씀이 ‘바로의 고관들’로 표현된 중심계율들을 의미함은 ‘고관들’과 ‘바로’의 의미를 보면 분명합니다. That this signifies the primary precepts, which are “the princes of Pharaoh,” is evident from the signification of “princes,” and of “Pharaoh.”

말씀의 두 가지 측면, 곧 역사서술 및 예언적인 면에서, ‘고관들’은 가장 중요한 것들을 의미하고, ‘바로’는 ‘애굽’과 그 의미하는 바가 같은데, 여기서는 ‘애굽’ 혹은 ‘바로’가 가장 좋은 뜻으로 사용되고 있습니다. 주님의 어린 시절, 처음 습득한 지식 중 기억-지식에 대한 서술이기 때문입니다. In both the historical and prophetical parts of the Word, “princes” signify the things which are primary; and “Pharaoh” signifies the same as “Egypt”; and here “Egypt,” or “Pharaoh,” is used in the best sense, because predicated of the memory-knowledge of knowledges which the Lord first acquired in childhood.

이들이 말씀에서는 중심계율들의 의미인 것은, 이런 것들이 그 속뜻 상으로 가지는 상징 때문입니다. That they were primary precepts from the Word is evident from the signification of these things in the internal sense.

일반적으로, 말씀에서 ‘바로’나 ‘애굽’이나 같은 걸 상징한다는 건 많은 구절을 통해 확인할 수 있는데요, 마치 다른 나라 군주들이 그 나라의 이름으로 불리듯 군주들 또한 그 나라의 이름으로 불리는 것과 똑같습니다. 하지만 ‘고관들’은 이사야에서처럼 제일 중요한 걸 상징합니다. That, speaking generally, by “Pharaoh” in the Word is signified the same as by “Egypt” may be confirmed from many passages; as also that by the kings of other kingdoms, who are named, the same is signified as by the names of the kingdoms; but by “princes” are signified their primary things, as in Isaiah:

11소안의 방백은 어리석었고 바로의 가장 지혜로운 모사의 책략은 우둔하여졌으니 너희가 어떻게 바로에게 이르기를 나는 지혜로운 자들의 자손이라 나는 옛 왕들의 후예라 할 수 있으랴 13소안의 방백들은 어리석었고 놉의 방백들은 미혹되었도다 그들은 애굽 종족들의 모퉁잇돌이거늘 애굽을 그릇 가게 하였도다 (사19:11, 13) The princes of Zoan are foolish, the wise counselors of Pharaoh; how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings? The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived. (Isa. 19:11, 13)

여기 ‘소안의 방백’과 ‘바로의 가장 지혜로운 모사’는 가장 중요한 기억-지식을 가리키며, 앞서 말씀드린 대로, 애굽에서는 지혜가 가장 번창하였으므로, 지혜를 가리켜 ‘지혜로운 자들의 자손’, ‘옛 왕들의 후예’라 부르고 있습니다. Here “the princes of Zoan,” and “the wise counselors of Pharaoh,” denote the primary memory-knowledges; and as wisdom first flourished in Egypt, as before said, it is called “the son of the wise,” and “the son of ancient kings.”

이렇게 말씀에 자주 나오는 ‘고관(高官)’(프린세스, 백관 (百官), 방백(方伯), 대신(大臣) 등)은 가장 중요한 것들을 가리킵니다. So “princes” frequently denote in the Word primary things.

1483. 바로 앞에서 칭찬하므로 And they praised her to Pharaoh.

이 말씀은 그들이 기뻐하였다는 건데요, 굳이 무슨 설명이 필요 없지 싶습니다. That this signifies that they were pleasing may be seen without explication.

1484. 그 여인을 바로의 궁으로 이끌어들인지라 And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house.

이 말씀이 그들은 마음의 더 낮은 부분에 매혹되었다라는 의미임은 ‘여인’의 의미와, ‘궁’(house)의 의미를 보면 알 수 있습니다. That this signifies that they captivated the lower mind is evident from the signification of “woman,” and from the signification of “house.”

‘여인’은 진리, 여기서는 기억-지식들 안에 있었던, 어린 시절 주님이 사로잡히실 정도로 즐거워했던 진리를 의미합니다. A “woman” signifies truth, here the truth that was in the memory-knowledges with the delights of which the Lord was captivated in childhood.

진리에 관한 즐거움은 ‘누이’로 상징된 지적 진리(the intellectual truth)로부터 오는 것들입니다. The delights of truth are those which come from the intellectual truth which is signified by a “sister.”

‘궁’은 앞서 710번 글에서 보여드린 대로, 사람, 특히 사람의 의지에 속한 것들을 상징합니다. 그래서 여기서는 마음의 더 낮은 부분, 곧, 앎과 배움에 관한 애정에 속한 것들을 상징합니다. A “house” signifies the things that are in man, especially those which are of his will, as before shown (n. 710); here therefore those which are of the lower mind, or of the affection of knowing and learning.

※ 710. 창7:1, 너와 네 온 집은 방주로 들어가라 Enter thou and all thy house into the ark.

이 말씀이 의지에 속한 것들을 상징하고 있음이 그래서 분명한 것입니다. That this signifies the things that are of the will is therefore evident.

이해에 속한 것들을 의미하는 전장에서는 다르게 표현되고 있는데요, 즉, 18절 말씀입니다. ‘너는 네 아들들과 네 아내와 네 며느리들과 함께 그 방주로 들어가고’ (창6:18) In the preceding chapter, where the things of the understanding are meant, it is expressed differently, namely: “Thou shalt come into the ark, thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.” (verse 18)

‘집’이 의지와 의지에 속한 것을 상징함은 말씀 많은 곳에서 볼 수 있는데요, 예를 들면, 예레미야입니다. That a “house” signifies the will and what is of the will is evident in various places in the Word; as in Jeremiah:

그들의 집과 밭과 아내가 타인의 소유로 이전되리라 (렘6:12) Their houses shall be turned over unto others, their fields and their wives together. (Jer. 6:12)

여기 ‘집’과 ‘밭’, 그리고 ‘아내’는 의지에 속한 것들에 관련됩니다. Here “houses” and also “fields” and “wives” relate to things which are of the will.

다시 Again:

너희는 집을 짓고 거기에 살며; 밭을 일구고 그 열매를 먹으라 (렘29:5, 28) Build ye houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them. (Jer. 29:5, 28)

여기 ‘집을 짓고 거기에서 살기’는 의지에 관련되고, ‘밭을 일구기’는 이해와 관련됩니다. 다른 구절들에서도 마찬가지입니다. Here “building houses and dwelling in them” relates to the will; “planting gardens” to the understanding: and it is the same in other passages.

그리고 ‘여호와의 집’은 아주 자주 사랑이 중심원리인 교회를 상징하는 곳으로 언급되는데, 특별히 ‘유다의 집’은 천적 교회를, ‘이스라엘의 집’은 영적 교회를 상징합니다. And the “house of Jehovah” is frequently mentioned as signifying the church wherein love is the principal; the “house of Judah” as signifying the celestial church; and the “house of Israel” as signifying the spiritual church.

‘집’이 교회를 상징하기 때문에, 교회에 속한 사람의 마음 또한 ‘집’으로 상징됩니다. (의지와 이해에 속한, 혹은 체어리티와 신앙에 속한 것들이 그 안에 있기 때문입니다.) As “house” signifies the church, the mind of the man of the church (wherein are the things of the will and of the understanding, or of charity and faith) is also signified by “house.”
