AC.565, 창6:1, '사람이 땅 위에 번성하기 시작할 때에'(AC.564-568)

※ 여기 ‘사람’(man)은 그 시절 존재하던 인류, 실제로 악하거나 부패했던 인류를 상징한다는 것이 다음 구절들을 보면 나옵니다.

 

1절, 사람이 땅 위에 번성하기 시작할 때에 그들에게서 딸들이 나니 And it came to pass that man began to multiply himself upon the faces of the ground, and daughters were born unto them.

여기 ‘사람’(man)은 그 시절 존재하던 인류, 실제로 악하거나 부패했던 인류를 상징한다는 것이 다음 구절들을 보면 나옵니다. That by “man” is here signified the race of mankind existing at that time, and indeed a race which was evil or corrupt, appears from the following passages:

 

나의 영이 영원히 사람과 함께 하지 아니하리니 이는 그들이 육신이 됨이라 (3절) My spirit shall not reprove man forever, for that he is flesh. (verse 3)

 

여호와께서 사람의 죄악이 세상에 가득함과 그의 마음으로 생각하는 모든 계획이 항상 악할 뿐임을 보시고 (5절) The evil of man was multiplied on the earth, and the imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil. (verse 5)

 

내가 창조한 사람을 내가 지면에서 쓸어버리되 (7절) I will destroy man whom I have created; (verse 7)

 

그리고 다음 장에서 and in the following chapter

 

21땅 위에 움직이는 생물이 다 죽었으니 곧 새와 가축과 들짐승과 땅에 기는 모든 것과 모든 사람이라 22육지에 있어 그 코에 생명의 기운의 숨이 있는 것은 다 죽었더라 (창7:21-22) All flesh died that crept upon the earth, and every man, in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of lives. (Gen. 7:21–22)

 

사람에 관하여는, 주님 홀로 사람이시라고 이미 말씀드렸습니다. (AC.49, 162) 그리고 주님으로 말미암아 모든 천적(天的, celestial) 인간, 혹은 천적 교회들을 일컬어 ‘사람’(man)이라 합니다. (AC.477) Of man it has already been said that the Lord alone is man, and that from him every celestial man, or celestial church, is called “man.”

 

그래서 다른 모든 교회도 사람이라 이름하며, 그렇게 모든 사람 또한 그의 신앙이 무엇인지 상관없이 다 그를 짐승과 구별하여 사람이라 합니다. 리메인스 덕에 사람은 사람이라 이름하며, 리메인스, 곧 주님께 속한 이 리메인스가 있어 우리가 사람으로 불린다는 점을 고려하면, 사람이 전에 얼마나 악했든 지금 우리가 사람이라는 이름을 가진 것은 오직 주님으로 말미암은 것입니다. 사람은 리메인스가 없으면, 결코 사람이 될 수 없으며, 오히려 가장 고약한 짐승이 되기 때문입니다. 그러나 주님께 속한 리메인스가 아니면, 여전히 사람은 사람이 아니며, 짐승과 구별되지 않습니다. (AC.530, 560) Hence all of other churches are called men; and so is everyone, no matter of what faith, to distinguish him from the brutes. But still a man is not a man, and distinct from the brutes, except by virtue of remains, which are of the Lord. From these also a man is called man, and inasmuch as he is so called by reason of remains, which belong to the Lord, it is from him that he has the name of man be he ever so wicked, for a man is by no means man, but the vilest of brutes, unless he has remains.
