14절, 여호와 하나님이 뱀에게 이르시되 네가 이렇게 하였으니 네가 모든 가축과 들의 모든 짐승보다 더욱 저주를 받아 배로 다니고 살아 있는 동안 흙을 먹을지니라 And Jehovah God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above every beast, and above every wild animal of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.

‘모든 가축과 들의 모든 짐승’(the beast and the wild animal of the field)이 어펙션(affections)을 말한다는 건 앞서 그걸 다룬 글들인 45, 46번 글들과, 거기 주님의 허락으로 추가된 시편의 다음 구절을 보면 분명합니다. That the “beast and the wild animal of the field” signify affections is evident from what was previously said concerning them (n. 45–46), to which it is permitted to add the following passage from David:
9하나님이여 주께서 흡족한 비를 보내사 주의 기업이 곤핍할 때에 주께서 그것을 견고하게 하셨고 10주의 회중을 그 가운데에 살게 하셨나이다 하나님이여 주께서 가난한 자를 위하여 주의 은택을 준비하셨나이다 (시68:9-10) Thou, O God, dost send the rain of thy kindnesses; thou confirmest thy laboring inheritance; thy wild animal shall dwell therein, (Ps. 68:9–10)
여기서도 ‘주의 회중’(wild animal)은 선한 애정을 가리킵니다. ‘그 가운데에 살게 하셨나이다’(dwell in the inheritance of God) 하고 있기 때문입니다. where also “wild animal” denotes the affection of good, because it is said that it shall “dwell in the inheritance of God.”
창세기 1장 24, 25절에서는 ‘가축과 땅의 짐승’(the beast and the wild animal of the earth)이라 하신 반면, 여기와 또 창세기 2장 19, 20절에서는 ‘가축과 들의 짐승’(the beast and the wild animal of the field)으로 언급하시는 이유는, 이 구절은 교회, 즉 거듭난 사람을 다루고 있는 반면, 창세기 1장은 아직은 교회가 아닌, 혹은 이제 막 거듭남의 과정을 시작하려는 사람을 다루고 있기 때문입니다. 이 ‘들’(the field)이라는 말은 교회, 혹은 거듭남 가운데 있는 사람들에게 적용되는 말이기 때문입니다. The reason why here, and also in chapter 2:19–20, the “beast and the wild animal of the field” are mentioned, while in chapter 1:24–25, the “beast and the wild animal of the earth” are named, is that the present passage treats of the church or regenerated man, whereas the first chapter related to what was as yet not a church, or to man about to become regenerate; for the word “field” is applied to the church, or to the regenerate.
