천국과 지상의 모든 것 간에 어떤 상응이 존재한다 There Is a Correspondence of Heaven with All Things of the Earth

주76. 이 세상과 그 가운데 세 종류의 계, 즉 동, 식물 및 광물계에 속한 모든 것은 천국에 있는 모든 천적인 것들과 상응한다. 즉 자연계에 있는 것들은 영계에 있는 것들과 상응한다 (AC.1632, 1881, 2758, 2760–2763, 2987–3003, 3213–3227, 3483, 3624–3649, 4044, 4053, 4116, 4366, 4939, 5116, 5377, 5428, 5477, 9280). All things that are in the world and its three kingdoms correspond to the heavenly things that are in heaven, that is, the things in the natural world correspond to the things in the spiritual world (n. 1632, 1881, 2758, 2760–2763, 2987–3003, 3213–3227, 3483, 3624–3649, 4044, 4053, 4116, 4366, 4939, 5116, 5377, 5428, 5477, 9280). 상응에 의해 자연계와 영계는 서로 결합한다 (AC.8615). By correspondences the natural world is conjoined to the spiritual world (n. 8615). 이런 연유로, 모든 자연은 주님의 나라를 표상하는 하나의 극장이다 (AC.2758, 2999, 3000, 3483, 4938, 4939, 8848, 9280). For this reason all nature is a theater representative of the Lord’s kingdom (n. 2758, 2999, 3000, 3483, 4938, 4939, 8848, 9280).

 

 

주77. 천국과 이 세상 등 질서 가운데 있는 피조세계 모든 만물은 선과 진리와 관련이 있으며 (AC.2451, 3166, 4390, 4409, 5232, 7256, 10122), Everything in the universe, both in heaven and in the world, that is in accordance with order, has reference to good and truth (n. 2451, 3166, 4390, 4409, 5232, 7256, 10122); 그리고 무언가로 존재하기 위해 이 둘의 결합하고도 관련이 있다 (AC.10555). and to the conjunction of these, in order to be anything (n. 10555).

 

 

주78. 상응으로 말미암아 동물은 애정을 의미하는데, 유순하고 쓰임새 있는 동물은 선한 애정에, 사납고 쓸모없는 것들은 악한 애정을 의미한다 (AC.41, 45, 46, 142, 143, 246, 714, 716, 719, 2179, 2180, 3519, 9280). From correspondence animals signify affections; mild and useful animals good affections, fierce and useless ones evil affections (n. 41, 45, 46, 142, 143, 246, 714, 716, 719, 2179, 2180, 3519, 9280); 영계에서 있었던 체험들을 통해 예시된 (AC.3218, 5198, 9090). illustrated by experience from the spiritual world (n. 3218, 5198, 9090). 영계에서 동물의 생명으로 흘러들어오는 입류 (AC.1633, 3646). Influx of the spiritual world into the lives of animals (n. 1633, 3646). 상응에 의해 소와 송아지는 자연적 마음에 속한 애정을 의미한다 (AC.2180, 2566, 9391, 10132, 10407). Cattle and their young from correspondence signify affections of the natural mind (n. 2180, 2566, 9391, 10132, 10407). 양이 의미하는 것 (AC.4169, 4809). What sheep signify (n. 4169, 4809); 어린양의 경우 (AC.3994, 10132). and lambs (n. 3994, 10132). 날아다니는 것들은 지적, 지성적인 것들을 의미한다 (AC.40, 745, 776, 778, 866, 988, 991, 5149, 7441). Flying creatures signify intellectual things (n. 40, 745, 776, 778, 866, 988, 991, 5149, 7441); 그들의 속(genera)과 종(species)에 따른 어떤 차이와 함께, 영계에서의 체험을 통해 (AC.3219). with a difference according to their genera and species, from experience in the spiritual world (n. 3219).

 

 

주79. 상응으로부터 정원과 낙원은 지성과 지혜를 의미한다 (AC.100, 108). From correspondence a garden and a paradise signify intelligence and wisdom (n. 100, 108); 경험으로부터 (AC.3220). from experience (n. 3220). 상응 가운데 있는 모든 것은 말씀에서 그와 동일한 상징을 가진다 (AC.2896, 2987, 2989–2991, 3002, 3225). All things that have a correspondence have in the Word the same significance (n. 2896, 2987, 2989–2991, 3002, 3225).

 

 

주80. 나무는 퍼셉션과 지식을 의미한다 (AC.103, 2163, 2682, 2722, 2972, 7692). Trees signify perceptions and knowledges (n. 103, 2163, 2682, 2722, 2972, 7692). 이런 이유로 고대인들은 숲속 나무 아래에서 그들의 상응에 따라 거룩한 예배(Divine worship)를 드렸다 (AC.2722, 4552). For this reason the ancient people held Divine worship in groves under trees according to their correspondence (n. 2722, 4552). 나무, 식물 같은 식물계에 관한 것들 안으로 천국에서 흘러들어오는 입류 (AC.3648). Influx of heaven into subjects of the vegetable kingdom, as into trees and plants (n. 3648).

 

 

주81. 먹을 것(foods)은 상응에 의하면 영적 생명에 영양을 주는 것들을 의미한다 (AC.3114, 4459, 4792, 4976, 5147, 5293, 5340, 5342, 5410, 5426, 5576, 5582, 5588, 5655, 5915, 6277, 8562, 9003). From correspondence foods signify such things as nourish the spiritual life (n. 3114, 4459, 4792, 4976, 5147, 5293, 5340, 5342, 5410, 5426, 5576, 5582, 5588, 5655, 5915, 6277, 8562, 9003).

 

 

주82. 빵은 사람의 영적 생명에 영양을 주는 모든 선을 의미한다 (AC.2165, 2177, 3478, 3735, 3813, 4211, 4217, 4735, 4976, 9323, 9545, 10686). Bread signifies every good that nourishes the spiritual life of man (n. 2165, 2177, 3478, 3735, 3813, 4211, 4217, 4735, 4976, 9323, 9545, 10686). 그것이 성막 상 위에 놓였던 진설병(the loaves)이 상징하는 것이다 (AC.3478, 9545). Such was the signification of the loaves that were on the table in the tabernacle (n. 3478, 9545). 희생제물을 일반적으로 빵이라고 했다 (AC.2165). Sacrifices in general were called bread (n. 2165). 빵은 모든 먹을 것을 포함한다 (AC.2165). Bread includes all food (n. 2165). 그래서 빵은 모든 천적, 영적인 먹을 것을 의미한다 (AC.276, 680, 2165, 2177, 3478, 6118, 8410). Thus it signifies all heavenly and spiritual food (n. 276, 680, 2165, 2177, 3478, 6118, 8410).

 

 

주83. 모든 선은 쓰임새로부터, 그리고 쓰임새를 따라 그 즐거움(delight)뿐 아니라 퀄러티도 가진다. 쓰임새라는 게 이런 것이고, 이런 게 선이다 (AC.3049, 4984, 7038). Every good has its delight as well as its quality from use and in accordance with use; therefore such as the use is, such is the good (n. 3049, 4984, 7038). 천사들의 생명은 사랑과 체어리티의 선, 즉 쓰임새를 수행함으로 구성된다 (AC.454). Angelic life consists in the goods of love and charity, that is, in performing uses (n. 454). 주님이, 그리고 결과적으로 천사들이 사람에 관해 보는 것은 오직 그 목적, 곧 쓰임새다 (AC.1317, 1645, 5854). The Lord, and consequently the angels, look only, in regard to man, to ends, which are uses (n. 1317, 1645, 5854). 주님의 나라는 쓰임새의 나라, 곧 목적의 나라이다 (AC.454, 696, 1103, 3645, 4054, 7038). The Lord’s kingdom is a kingdom of uses, that is, of ends (n. 454, 696, 1103, 3645, 4054, 7038). 주님을 섬긴다는 것은 쓰임새를 수행하는 것이다 (AC.7038). Serving the Lord is performing uses (n. 7038). 사람에게 있어 크고 작은 모든 일은 쓰임새를 위해 행해져 온 일이다 (AC.3626, 4104, 5189, 9297). Each thing and all things in man have been formed for use (n. 3626, 4104, 5189, 9297); 또한 쓰임새로부터, 즉 쓰임새는 쓰임새가 수행되는 사람 안 장기(臟器)들의 형태보다 우선한다. 쓰임새란 천국을 통한 주님의 흘러들어오심으로 말미암기 때문이다 (AC.4223, 4926). also from use, that is, the use is prior to the organic forms in man through which the use is performed, because use is from the inflowing of the Lord through heaven (n. 4223, 4926). 더욱이 사람의 내면(interiors)은, 이는 그의 마음(mind)을 구성하는데, 그가 성숙해지면서 쓰임새로 말미암아, 그리고 쓰임새를 위해 형성된다 (AC.1964, 6815, 9297). Moreover man’s interiors, which constitute his mind, when he grows to maturity are formed from use and for use (n. 1964, 6815, 9297). 결론적으로, 사람은 쓰임새와 같이 가는 그런 존재이다 (AC.1568, 3570, 4054, 6571, 6935, 6938, 10284). Consequently man is such as are the uses with him (n. 1568, 3570, 4054, 6571, 6935, 6938, 10284). 쓰임새란 쓰임새라는 걸 위한 목적이다 (AC.3565, 4054, 4104, 6815). Uses are the ends for the sake of which (n. 3565, 4054, 4104, 6815). 쓰임새는 처음이자 나중, 곧 사람의 모든 것이다 (AC.1964). Use is the first and the last, thus the all of man (n. 1964).

 

 

주84. 말씀은 순전히 상응으로만 기록되었다 (AC.8615). The Word was written wholly by correspondences (n. 8615). 말씀으로 사람은 천국과 결합한다 (AC.2899, 6943, 9396, 9400, 9401, 10375, 10452). By means of the Word man has conjunction with heaven (n. 2899, 6943, 9396, 9400, 9401, 10375, 10452).

 

 

주85. 말씀의 속뜻과 관련, 작은 책자, ‘백마’(White Horse, 계시록에 나오는)를 보라 Concerning the spiritual sense of the Word see the little work White Horse referred to in Revelation.

 

 

주86. 금은 상응으로 천적 선을 의미한다 (AC.113, 1551, 1552, 5658, 6914, 6917, 9510, 9874, 9881). Gold from correspondence signifies celestial good (n. 113, 1551, 1552, 5658, 6914, 6917, 9510, 9874, 9881). 은은 영적 선, 즉 그 근원이 천적인 진리를 의미한다 (AC.1551, 1552, 2954, 5658). Silver signifies spiritual good, that is, truth from a celestial origin (n. 1551, 1552, 2954, 5658). 동은 자연적 선을 의미한다 (AC.425, 1551). Copper signifies natural good (n. 425, 1551). 철은 순서상 가장 바깥쪽 진리를 의미한다 (AC.425, 426). Iron signifies truth in the outmost of order (n. 425, 426).

The Sun in Heaven

주87. 주님은 천국에서 해로 보이시며, 천국의 해이시다 (AC.1053, 3636, 3643, 4060). The Lord is seen in heaven as a sun, and is the sun of heaven (n. 1053, 3636, 3643, 4060). 주님은 그분의 천적 나라 사람들한테는 해로 보이시는데, 거기는 그분을 향한 사랑이 다스리는 나라다. 그리고 그분의 영적 나라 사람들한테는 달로 보이시는데, 거기는 이웃을 향한 체어리티와 신앙이 다스리는 나라다 (AC.1521, 1529–1531, 1837, 4696). The Lord is seen as a sun by those who are in His celestial kingdom, where love to Him reigns, and as a moon by those who are in His spiritual kingdom, where charity to the neighbor and faith reign (n. 1521, 1529–1531, 1837, 4696). 주님은 오른눈 앞 중간 높이쯤 해로 보이시고, 왼눈 앞에서는 달로 보이신다 (AC.1053, 1521, 1529–1531, 3636, 3643, 4321, 5097, 7078, 7083, 7173, 7270, 8812, 10809). The Lord is seen as a sun at a middle height before the right eye, and as a moon before the left eye (n. 1053, 1521, 1529–1531, 3636, 3643, 4321, 5097, 7078, 7083, 7173, 7270, 8812, 10809). 주님은 해와 달로 보이신다 (AC.1531, 7173). The Lord is seen as a sun and as a moon (n. 1531, 7173). 주님의 신성 그 자체는 천국에 있는 그분의 신성보다 아득히 높으시다 (AC.7270, 8760). The Lord’s Divine itself is far above His Divine in heaven (n. 7270, 8760).

 

 

주88. 말씀에서 ‘불’은 좋은 의미로든 나쁜 의미로든 사랑을 의미한다 (AC.934, 4906, 5215). “Fire” in the Word signifies love, both in a good sense and in a bad sense (n. 934, 4906, 5215). 거룩한 하늘의 불은 신적 사랑(the Divine Love)을 의미한다 (AC.934, 6314, 6832). Holy or heavenly fire signifies the Divine Love (n. 934, 6314, 6832). 지옥 불(Infernal fire)은 자아 사랑과 세상 사랑, 그리고 그 사랑들에 속한 모든 정욕(lust)을 의미한다 (AC.1861, 5071, 6314, 6832, 7575, 10747). Infernal fire signifies love of self and of the world and every lust of those loves (n. 1861, 5071, 6314, 6832, 7575, 10747). 사랑은 생명의 불이며, 생명 그 자체는 실제로 사랑에서 나온다 (AC.4906, 5071, 6032, 6314). Love is the fire of life and life itself is really from it (n. 4906, 5071, 6032, 6314). ‘빛’은 신앙의 진리를 의미한다 (AC.3195, 3485, 3636, 3643, 3993, 4302, 4413, 4415, 9548, 9684). “Light” signifies the truth of faith (n. 3195, 3485, 3636, 3643, 3993, 4302, 4413, 4415, 9548, 9684).

 

 

주89. 왼눈이 보는 것은 신앙의 진리에 상응하고, 오른눈이 보는 것은 그것들의 선에 상응한다 (AC.4410, 6923). The sight of the left eye corresponds to truths of faith, and the sight of the right eye to their goods (n. 4410, 6923).

 

 

주90. 사람의 오른쪽에 관한 것들은 선과 관련된다. 진리는 이 선에서 나온다. 왼쪽에 관한 것들은 선에서 나오는 진리와 관련된다 (AC.9495, 9604). The things on man’s right have relation to good from which is truth, and those on his left to truth from good (n. 9495, 9604).

주92. 주님의 신적 사랑(the Lord’s Divine love)이 어떤 건지, 그리고 얼마나 그레이트한지는 이 세상 해의 불과 비교해 보면 알 수 있다 (AC.6834, 6849, 8644). What the Lord’s Divine love is, and how great it is, is illustrated by comparison with the fire of this world’s sun (n. 6834, 6849, 8644). 주님의 신적 사랑은 인류 전체를 구원하고자 하시는 그들을 향하신 사랑이다 (AC.1820, 1865, 2253, 6872). The Lord’s Divine love is love toward the whole human race to save it (n. 1820, 1865, 2253, 6872). 먼저 주님의 사랑의 불에서 나오는 사랑은 천국으로 들어가는 대신 해 주위 광채(radiant belts)처럼 보인다 (AC.7270). The love that first goes forth from the fire of the Lord’s love does not enter heaven, but is seen as radiant belts about the sun (n. 7270). 천사들은 불타는 사랑의 입류(the inflow of burning love)로 상하지 않도록 그에 상응하는 엷은 구름 같은 베일로 보호된다 (AC.6849). The angels are veiled with a corresponding thin cloud, to prevent their being harmed by the inflow of burning love (n. 6849).

 

 

주93. 천사들과 함께하시는 주님의 임재(The Lord’s presence)는 그분의 사랑과 신앙의 선에 대한 그들의 수용 정도에 비례한다 (AC.904, 4198, 4320, 6280, 6832, 7042, 8819, 9680, 9682, 9683, 10106, 10811). The Lord’s presence with the angels is in proportion to their reception of good of love and faith from Him (n. 904, 4198, 4320, 6280, 6832, 7042, 8819, 9680, 9682, 9683, 10106, 10811). 주님은 각 사람에게 맞춰 나타나신다. 즉 각자의 역량만큼만 보이신다 (AC.1861, 3235, 4198, 4206). The Lord appears to each one in accordance with what he is (n. 1861, 3235, 4198, 4206). 지옥들은 천국들과 상당히 멀리 떨어져 있는데, 그들은 주님의 신적 사랑의 임재를 견딜 수 없기 때문이다 (AC.4299, 7519, 7738, 7989, 8137, 8265, 9327). The hells are at a distance from the heavens because they cannot bear the presence of Divine love from the Lord (n. 4299, 7519, 7738, 7989, 8137, 8265, 9327). 이런 이유로, 지옥들은 천국들과 굉장히 멀며, 이것이 곧 ‘큰 구렁텅이’(the great gulf, 눅16:26)라 하는 것이다 (AC.9346, 10187). For this reason the hells are very far away from the heavens, and this is the “great gulf” (n. 9346, 10187).

 

그뿐 아니라 너희와 우리 사이에 큰 구렁텅이가 놓여 있어 여기서 너희에게 건너가고자 하되 갈 수 없고 거기서 우리에게 건너올 수도 없게 하였느니라 (눅16:26)

 

 

주94. 이 세상 해는 천사들한테는 보이지 않으며, 그 자리에 뭔가 그 뒤에 어두운, 그러니까 천국의 해, 즉 주님과 반대되는 것으로 보인다 (AC.7078, 9755). The sun of the world is not seen by the angels, but in its place something dark behind, opposite to the sun of heaven or the Lord (n. 7078, 9755). ‘해’는 그 반대의 의미로는 자기 사랑을 뜻한다 (AC.2441). In the opposite sense the “sun” signifies the love of self (n. 2441); 그리고 이런 의미에서 ‘해를 예배한다는 것’은 천국의 사랑, 즉 주님 사랑에 반대되는 걸 예배한다는 뜻이다 (AC.2441, 10584). and in this sense “to worship the sun” signifies to worship what is contrary to heavenly love or to the Lord (n. 2441, 10584). 지옥에 있는 사람들한테는 천국의 해는 짙은 어둠이다 (AC.2441). To those in the hells the sun of heaven is thick darkness (n. 2441).

 

 

주95. 주님은 천국의 모든 것이 몸을 돌려 바라보는 공통 중심(the common center)이시다 (AC.3633, 3641). The Lord is the common center to which all things of heaven turn (n. 3633, 3641).
