15절, 여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 에덴동산에 두어 그것을 경작하며 지키게 하시고 And Jehovah God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden, to till it and take care of it.

일반적이든 아니든  천적 인간은 모든 게 주님의 것이라는 걸 기꺼이 인정합니다. 그걸 그는 지각하기 때문이지요. 영적 인간도 마찬가지, 인정은 하는데, 그러나 그는 입으로 합니다. 그는 그걸 말씀에서 배워서 하기 때문입니다. 세속적, 육적 인간은 기꺼이로도, 억지로도 인정하지 않는데요, 그는 무엇이든 자기한테 있는 건 다 자기 꺼라고 하며, 만일 그걸 잃으면 자기는 완전히 끝나는 걸로 여깁니다. The celestial man acknowledges, because he perceives, that all things both in general and in particular are the Lord’s. The spiritual man does indeed acknowledge the same, but with the mouth, because he has learned it from the Word. The worldly and corporeal man neither acknowledges nor admits it; but whatever he has he calls his own, and imagines that were he to lose it, he would altogether perish.

‘에덴동산’은 설명드린 대로, 천적 인간의 모든 걸 상징합니다. ‘그것을 경작하며 지키게 하시고’는 그가 그 모든 걸 누리는 건 허락하시지만, 그 자신의 걸로 소유하는 건 허락하지 않으신다는 겁니다. 그건 모두 주님의 것이기 때문이지요. By the “garden of Eden” are signified all things of the celestial man, as described; by to “till it and take care of it” is signified that it is permitted him to enjoy all these things, but not to possess them as his own, because they are the Lord’s.

14절, 셋째 강의 이름은 힛데겔이라 앗수르 동쪽으로 흘렀으며 넷째 강은 유브라데더라 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel; that is it which goeth eastward toward Assyria; and the fourth river is Euphrates.

천적 질서의 본질(The nature of celestial order), 즉 생명에 관한 것들의 진행 순서는 먼저 이들 강들, 즉 ‘동’(東)이신 주님으로부터 시작, 주님으로부터 지혜가, 지혜를 통해 지성이, 지성을 통해 이성, 그리고 그렇게 이번에는 이성을 사용하여 기억 지식이 생생해지는 순서라는 것이 분명합니다. 이것이 생명의 질서, 순서이며, 그리고 이런 사람들이 천적 인간들입니다. 이런 가운데 이스라엘 장로들은 천적 인간들을 표상했기 때문에, 그들을 가리켜 ‘지혜와 지식이 있는 인정 받는 자들’(wise, intelligent, and knowing)이라 한 것입니다(신1:13, 15). The nature of celestial order, or how the things of life proceed, is evident from these rivers, namely, from the Lord, who is the “East,” and that from him proceeds wisdom, through wisdom intelligence, through intelligence reason, and so by means of reason the knowledges of the memory are vivified. This is the order of life, and such are celestial men; and therefore, since the elders of Israel represented celestial men, they were called “wise, intelligent, and knowing” (Deut. 1:13, 15).

13너희의 각 지파에서 지혜와 지식이 있는 인정 받는 자들을 택하라 내가 그들을 세워 너희 수령을 삼으리라 한즉, 15내가 너희 지파의 수령으로 지혜가 있고 인정 받는 자들을 취하여 너희의 수령을 삼되 곧 각 지파를 따라 천부장과 백부장과 오십부장과 십부장과 조장을 삼고 (신1:13, 15)

그래서 궤를 만든 브살렐에 대해 이렇게 말한 것이지요. Hence it is said of Bezaleel, who constructed the ark, that he was:

하나님의 영을 그에게 충만하게 하여 지혜와 총명과 지식과 여러 가지 재주로 (출31:3)

하나님의 영을 그에게 충만하게 하여 지혜와 총명과 지식으로 여러 가지 일을 하게 하시되 (출35:31)

1브살렐과 오홀리압과 및 마음이 지혜로운 사람 곧 여호와께서 지혜와 총명을 부으사 성소에 쓸 모든 일을 할 줄 알게 하신 자들은 모두 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 할 것이니라 2모세가 브살렐과 오홀리압과 및 마음이 지혜로운 사람 곧 그 마음에 여호와께로부터 지혜를 얻고 와서 그 일을 하려고 마음에 원하는 모든 자를 부르매 (출36:1-2) Filled with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge [scientia], and in all work. (Exod. 31:3; 35:31; 36:1–2)
