출14, AC.8120–8251

홍해를 건너다 (1-31절, 장 전체, AC.8126-8241)

8125. 이 장에서 다루는 주제는 그 속뜻으로는 영적 교회에 속한 사람들의 첫 번째 시험과 그들을 지옥 한가운데로 인도하기, 그리고 그때 그들을 향하신 주님의 보호와, 또한 체어리티와 분리된 신앙을 가진 사람들이 지옥으로 가라앉는 것인데요, 거기는 악으로 말미암는 거짓이 있는 곳입니다. 영적 교회에 속한 사람들을 ‘이스라엘 자손’(the sons of Israel)으로, 체어리티와 분리된 신앙을 가진 사람들을 ‘애굽 사람들’(the Egyptians)로 표현하고 있고요, 첫 시험은 이스라엘 자손이 바로의 군대를 보고 원망하는 것으로, 지옥은 이스라엘 자손은 안전하게 인도된 반면, 이집트인들은 수장되고만 ‘숲 바다’(the sea Suph)로, 악으로 인한 거짓은 저들을 덮은 물로 각각 상징하고 있습니다. In this chapter, in the internal sense, the subject treated of is the first temptation of those who are of the spiritual church, and the conducting of them through the midst of hell, and their protection then by the Lord; and also the immersion of those who were in faith separate from charity in hell, where are falsities from evils. They who are of the spiritual church are represented by the sons of Israel; they who are in faith separate from charity by the Egyptians. The first temptation is described by the murmuring of the sons of Israel when they saw the army of Pharaoh. Hell is signified by the “sea Suph” through which the sons of Israel were conducted in safety, and in which the Egyptians were immersed. Falsities from evils are signified by the waters which covered the latter.

8038. 이 장에서 다루는 주제는 그 속뜻으로는 주님 신앙(faith in the Lord)과 주님에 의해 저주에서 해방된 것을 영원히 기억하는 것(the perpetual remembrance of having been liberated by Him from damnation)입니다. 주님 신앙은 처음 난 것에 관한 신성화(the sanctification of the firstborn)로, 주님에 의한 해방을 영원히 기억하는 것은 유월절 축제(the celebration of the passover)로 각각 상징합니다. In this chapter the subject treated of in the internal sense is faith in the Lord, and the perpetual remembrance of having been liberated by Him from damnation. Faith in the Lord is signified by the sanctification of the firstborn, and the perpetual remembrance of liberation by the Lord is signified by the celebration of the passover.

In the latter portion of the chapter, and thereafter, the subject treated of is the further preparation of those who were of the spiritual church and who before the coming of the Lord were detained in the lower earth until they could be introduced into heaven, and that for the sake of this end they were first sent through the midst of damnation in safety, and after this underwent temptations, the Lord being continually present. Transmission through the midst of damnation is signified by the passage through the sea Suph; temptations are signified by that life in the wilderness to which they were led; and the presence of the Lord is signified by the pillar of cloud by day, and of fire by night.

The subject treated of in this chapter in the internal sense is the liberation of those who are of the spiritual church, and the damnation of those who are in faith separate from charity. The damnation of these latter and the liberation of the former are represented by the passover, and the states in respect to charity and faith of those who are liberated, by the things to be observed on the days of the passover.

7823. 가장 높은 뜻(the supreme sense)으로는 유월절은 신실하지 못한 사람들에 관한 저주(the damnation of the unfaithful)와 주님께서 영광을 받으셨을 때 주님에 의한 신실한 사람들에 관한 해방(the liberation of the faithfulby the Lord, when he had been glorified)을 나타내는데요, 그때 신실한 사람들의 상태에 관한 퀄러티(The quality of the state of the faithful at that time)와, 또한 나중에 범보편적으로든 아주 특별한 경우든 그 퀄러티가 어떻게 될 것인지(what its quality would be afterward, both in the universal and in every particular)가 이 유월절 법령이 가리키는 가장 높은 뜻입니다. In the supreme sense by the passover is represented the damnation of the unfaithful and the liberation of the faithful by the Lord, when he had been glorified. The quality of the state of the faithful at that time, and also what its quality would be afterward, both in the universal and in every particular, is described in this supreme sense by the statutes of the passover.
