※ ‘에노스’, 세 번째 교회, ‘게난’, 네 번째 교회

9절, 에노스는 구십 세에 게난을 낳았고 And Enosh lived ninety years, and begat Kenan.

시간이 흐르면서 서로 계승된 교회들, 그래서 이 교회는 저 교회에서 나왔다 할 수 있는 교회들에 관하여, 그것은 마치 열매들이나 그 씨앗들의 경우와 같습니다. 이것들의 한 가운데, 즉 그 가장 안쪽에는, 말하자면, 열매들의 열매들, 혹은 씨앗들의 씨앗들이 있는데, 이로 말미암아, 말하자면, 그 이어지는 부분들이 일반적인 순서대로 생명을 받는 것입니다. 가장 안쪽인 중심에서 가장 바깥쪽인 둘레를 향하여 멀면 멀수록 그들 안에 있는 열매나 씨앗의 에센스가 흐릿해져서 결국 그 열매들이나 씨앗들이 종료되는 외피나 껍질밖에 남지 않기 때문입니다. 아니면 이번엔 사람의 두뇌의 경우로도 비유할 수 있는데요, 두뇌 가장 안쪽은 대뇌 피질이라 하는 아주 섬세한 조직들로 되어 있으며, 거기서 그리고 그로 말미암아 혼(soul)의 활동이 전개됩니다. 거기서 일반적 순서대로 아주 순수한 막들이 이어지고, 계속해서 아주 촘촘한 막들 및 최종적으로는 뇌막, 수막이라고 하는 막에 이르게 됩니다. 이 막에서 지금까지 이어진 커버링이 마치게 되는데요, 더욱 일반적인 막들로 이어지다가 끝에 가서는 두개골이라고 하는 가장 일반적인 막으로 마감합니다. As regards the churches that in course of time succeeded one another, and of which it is said that one was born from another, the case with them was the same as it is with fruits, or with their seeds. In the midst of these, that is, in their inmosts, there are as it were fruits of the fruits, or seeds of the seeds, from which live as it were in regular order the successive parts. For the more remote these are from the inmost toward the circumference, the less of the essence of the fruit or of the seed is there in them, until finally they are but the cuticles or coverings in which the fruits or seeds terminate. Or as in the case of the brain, in the inmost parts of which are subtle organic forms called the cortical substances, from which and by which the operations of the soul proceed; and from which in regular order the purer coverings follow in succession, then the denser ones, and finally the general coverings called meninges, which are terminated in coverings still more general, and at last in the most general of all, which is the skull.

※ 즉 한 가운데 광원(光源)으로부터 멀어질수록 빛이 흐려지듯 어느 교회 시대든 그 원조, 시조가 가장 밝고 그 후대로 내려갈수록 혼탁해진다는 말을 지금 하고 있는 것이며, 태고교회의 경우, 그 빛에 해당하는 것이 바로 퍼셉션(perception)인데, ‘사람’, 곧 오리지날 ‘천적 인간’이었던 아담 교회가 가장 완전했고, 셋, 에노스 등 그 후대로 갈수록 흐려졌다, 사라졌다는 말입니다.
