※ 두발가인의 경우, '조상'이라 하지 않고, '인스트럭터'(the instructor, of every artificer, 강사, 선생)라 하는 이유

22절, 씰라는 두발가인을 낳았으니 그는 구리와 쇠로 여러 가지 기구를 만드는 자요 두발가인의 누이는 나아마였더라 And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-Cain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron; and the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah.

두발-가인을 일컬어 ‘모든 기능공들의 선생’이라 하면서 야발과 유발의 경우처럼 ‘조상’(father)이라고는 하지 않는데요, 그 이유는 그전에는 천적, 영적인 것들, 곧 내적인 것들이 전혀 없었기 때문입니다. 야발과 유발의 경우는, 이런 내적인 것들이 그들의 때에 처음 존재하기 시작했음을 가리키기 위해 ‘조상’이라는 표현을 쓰는 것이지요. 반면, 그 새 교회의 자연적, 즉 외적인 것들은 이미 그전부터 존재하다가 이 시점에서 내적인 것들과 연결되고 있는 것이고, 그래서 두발-가인의 경우는 ‘조상’이라 하지 않고, 대신 ‘모든 기능공들의 선생’이라 하는 것입니다. Tubal-Cain is called the “instructor of every artificer,” and not the “father,” as was the case with Jabal and Jubal; and the reason is that before there were no celestial and spiritual or internal things. And the term “father” is applied to Jabal and Jubal, to denote that such internal things then first began to exist; whereas natural or external things did exist before, but were now applied to internal things, so that Tubal-Cain is not called the “father,” but the “instructor, of every artificer.”
