4빛이 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 하나님이 빛과 어둠을 나누사 5하나님이 빛을 낮이라 부르시고 어둠을 밤이라 부르시니라 Verses 4, 5, And God saw the light, that it was good; and God distinguished between the light and the darkness. And God called the light day, and the darkness he called night.

주님은 빛이시고, 선이십니다. 사람 안에 두 가지, 곧 주님으로 말미암은 것은 빛, 곧 낮이고, 사람에게 속한 것은 어둠, 곧 밤입니다.

 

 

21. 빛을 ‘선’(good)이라고 합니다. 빛은 주님으로 말미암으며, 주님은 선 그 자체이신 분이기 때문입니다. ‘어둠’(the darkness)은 모든 것, 곧 사람이 새롭게 잉태되어 태어나기 전, 그동안 빛처럼 보여 그런 줄 알았던 모든 걸 말하는데요, 사람이 새롭게 태어나기 전에는 악은 선처럼 보이고, 거짓은 진리처럼 보이기 때문입니다. 그러나 그렇다 하더라도 실상은 이들 악과 거짓은 어둠, 곧 사람한테나 어울리는, 그래서 여전히 사람 안에 있는 걸로만 구성되는 것입니다. 주님에게 속하는 건 그게 뭐든지 다 ‘낮’(day)으로 비교합니다. 빛에 속하기 때문이고요, 반면, 사람의 것(man’s own)은 뭐든지 다 ‘밤’(night)으로 비교합니다. 어둠에 속하기 때문입니다. 이런 비교는 말씀에서 자주 나옵니다. Light is called “good,” because it is from the Lord, who is good itself, The “darkness” means all those things which, before man is conceived and born anew, have appeared like light, because evil has appeared like good, and the false like the true; yet they are darkness, consisting merely of the things proper to man himself, which still remain. Whatsoever is of the Lord is compared to “day,” because it is of the light; and whatsoever is man’s own is compared to “night,” because it is of darkness. These comparisons frequently occur in the Word.
