※ 여기 ‘형상’(image)이 두 번 언급되는 이유는 ‘자기 형상’(his image)은 신앙을, ‘하나님의 형상’(the image of God)은 사랑을 의미하기 때문입니다.

 

27절, 하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고 And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

여기 ‘형상’(image)이 두 번 언급되는 이유는 ‘자기 형상’(his image)은 신앙을, ‘하나님의 형상’(the image of God)은 사랑을 의미하기 때문입니다. 전자인 신앙은 이해(the understanding)에 속하는 반면, 후자인 사랑은 의지(the will)에 속하는데요, 이 사랑은 영적 인간에게 있어서는 뒤따라 나오는 거지만, 천적 인간에게 있어서는 앞서 나가는 것입니다. The reason why “image” is here twice mentioned is that faith, which belongs to the understanding, is called “his image”; whereas love, which belongs to the will, and which in the spiritual man comes after, but in the celestial man precedes, is called the “image of God.”
