11-12절, 11첫째의 이름은 비손이라 금이 있는 하윌라 온 땅을 둘렀으며 12그 땅의 금은 순금이요 그곳에는 베델리엄과 호마노도 있으며 The name of the first is Pishon; that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good; there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

하지만 이것들을 설명한다는 것은 대단히 어려운 일인게, 이것들은 속뜻으로 있기 때문입니다. 오늘날은 사랑에서 나오는 신앙(faith from love)이라는 게 뭔지, 그리고 거기서 나오는 지혜와 지성(the wisdom and intelligence thence derived)이라는 건 또 뭔지에 대해 아는 사람이 없기 때문입니다. 겉의 사람들(external men)은 기억-지식이라고 하는 거 밖에는(anything but memory-knowledge) 거의 아는 게 없는데요, 그들은 이걸 가리켜 지혜와 지성, 신앙이라 하고들 있지요. 그들은 심지어 사랑이라는 게 뭔지조차 모르는데요, 많은 사람이 의지와 이해라는 게 뭔지, 그리고 이 둘이 합쳐 하나의 마음(one mind)을 이룬다는 게 뭔지를 모릅니다. 그러나 실상은 이런 것들 하나하나가 다 뚜렷이 구별되는데요, 네, 정말 뚜렷하게 구별됩니다. 주님은 천국 전체(the universal heaven)를 사랑과 신앙의 헤아릴 수 없이 많은 차이를 통해 가장 뚜렷하게 구별될 수 있게 하셨습니다(is ordinated). It is however a very difficult matter to describe these things as they are in the internal sense, for at the present day no one knows what is meant by faith from love, and what by the wisdom and intelligence thence derived. For external men scarcely know of anything but memory-knowledge, which they call intelligence and wisdom, and faith. They do not even know what love is, and many do not know what the will and understanding are, and that they constitute one mind. And yet each of these things is distinct, yea, most distinct, and the universal heaven is ordinated by the Lord in the most distinct manner according to the differences of love and faith, which are innumerable.
