그 영이 그렇게 스스로 물러나면, 이번에는 선한 영들의 순서가 되는데, 이들 역시 마찬가지로 그가 자기들과 함께 있는 동안은 그에게 필요한 모든 것을 친절하게 제공합니다. 그러나 그가 세상 살 때 삶이 이런 선한 영들하고 있는 것조차도 불편한 그런 것이었다면, 그는 이번에도 이들 선한 영들이 어서 좀 가줬으면 하는데, 이런 과정은 반복, 또 반복, 결국 그가 세상 살 때 모습하고 딱 맞는, 그래서 ‘완전 내 스타일이야!’ 싶은 영들을 만날 때까지 그에게 계속됩니다. 그때부터 그는 정말 놀랍게도 그가 몸 안에 있을 때 살던 모습 그대로 그들 가운데서 살아갑니다. 그런 예전 생활로 도로 돌아가버린 후, 그는 그곳에서의 새로운 생활을 시작하는데요, 일부는 오래, 일부는 짧게 그곳 생활을 통해 지옥을 향해 새로 태어날, 즉 준비들을 하게 됩니다. 반면, 주님 신앙 가운데 있었던 영들은 그들도 역시 그곳의 새로운 생활을 통해 한 걸음 한 걸음, 그러나 이번에는 천국을 향해 인도를 받습니다. When the soul thus dissociates himself, he is received by good spirits, who likewise render him all kind offices while he is in their company. If however his life in the world has been such that he cannot remain in the company of the good, he desires to be rid of these also, and this process is repeated again and again, until he associates himself with those who are in full agreement with his former life in the world, among whom he finds as it were his own life. And then, wonderful to say, he leads with them a life like that which he had lived when in the body. But after sinking back into such a life, he makes a new beginning of life; and some after a longer time, some after a shorter, are from this borne on toward hell; but such as have been in faith toward the Lord are from that new beginning of life led step by step toward heaven.
