 창3:20-24

 

20아담이 그의 아내의 이름을 하와라 불렀으니 그는 모든 산 자의 어머니가 됨이더라 And the man [homo] called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21여호와 하나님이 아담과 그의 아내를 위하여 가죽옷을 지어 입히시니라 And Jehovah God made for the man and for his wife coats of skin, and clothed them. 22여호와 하나님이 이르시되 보라 이 사람이 선악을 아는 일에 우리 중 하나 같이 되었으니 그가 그의 손을 들어 생명 나무 열매도 따먹고 영생할까 하노라 하시고 And Jehovah God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, knowing good and evil; and now lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of lives, and eat, and live to eternity, 23여호와 하나님이 에덴동산에서 그를 내보내어 그의 근원이 된 땅을 갈게 하시니라 Therefore Jehovah God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. 24이같이 하나님이 그 사람을 쫓아내시고 에덴동산 동쪽에 그룹들과 두루 도는 불 칼을 두어 생명 나무의 길을 지키게 하시니라 And he cast out the man; and he made to dwell from the east toward the garden of Eden cherubim, and the flame of a sword turning itself, to keep the way of the tree of lives.

22절은, 네 번째 후손, 그 안에 있던 자연적 선이 소멸되기 시작한, 그리고 만일 이런 상태에서 그들이 신앙의 천적인 것들 안에서 새롭게 빚어지거나 가르침을 받기라도 했었더라면 소멸되어 버리고 말았을, 이런 내용을 ‘그가 그의 손을 들어 생명 나무 열매도 따먹고 영생할까 하노라’(Lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of lives, and eat, and live to eternity)는 워딩으로 의미하고 있습니다. (22절) Of the fourth posterity, in which natural good began to be dissipated, and which, had they been created anew or instructed in the celestial things of faith, would have perished, which is meant by, “Lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of lives, and eat, and live to eternity.” (verse 22)
