이 절에서는 맨 처음 시대, 곧 교회가 젊음의 꽃이었을 때지요, 천국의 결혼을 표상하던 때를 그리고 있습니다. 이런 이유로 교회를 결혼으로 설명하면서, 이름을 ‘하와’(Eve)라 하는데, 이는 ‘생명’(life)을 의미하는 말에서 나온 것입니다. In this verse is described the first time, when the church was in the flower of her youth, representing the heavenly marriage, on which account she is described by a marriage, and is called “Eve,” from a word meaning “life.”
