19-20절, 19여호와 하나님이 흙으로 각종 들짐승과 공중의 각종 새를 지으시고 아담이 무엇이라고 부르나 보시려고 그것들을 그에게로 이끌어 가시니 아담이 각 생물을 부르는 것이 곧 그 이름이 되었더라 20아담이 모든 가축과 공중의 새와 들의 모든 짐승에게 이름을 주니라 아담이 돕는 배필이 없으므로 And Jehovah God formed out of the ground every beast of the field, and every fowl of the heavens, and brought it to the man to see what he would call it; and whatsoever the man called every living soul, that was the name thereof. And the man gave names to every beast, and to the fowl of the heavens, and to every wild animal of the field; but for the man there was not found a help as with him.

지금까지 말씀드린 내용으로부터 그 상징되는 것의 연관성을 보실 수 있는데요, 18절에서는 ‘사람이 혼자 사는 것이 좋지 아니하니 내가 그를 위하여 돕는 배필을 지으리라’(It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a help as with him) 하시고, 지금은 ‘짐승’(beasts)과 ‘새’(birds)를 말씀하시는데, 그런데 이는 전에 다룬 적이 있던 것이지요. 그리고는 즉시 또 ‘아담이 돕는 배필이 없으므로’(for the man there was not found a help as with him)를 반복합니다. 이 일련의 내용은 그가 비록 자신의 퀄리티, 곧 선에 관한 애정과 진리에 관한 지식에 대해 아는 것이 허락되었어도, 그는 여전히 자신의 오운(own)을 향해 기울어졌음을 의미하는데요, 자신의 오운을 원하는 그런 사람들한테는 주님에게 속한 것들에 대한 멸시가 시작되기 때문입니다. 비록 그것들이 아무리 그들에게 분명하게 표현되고 보여져도 말입니다. From what has been stated, the connection of what is signified may be seen. In verse 18 it is said, “It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a help as with him,” and presently “beasts” and “birds” are spoken of, which nevertheless had been treated of before, and immediately it is repeated that “for the man there was not found a help as with him,” which denotes that although he was permitted to know his quality as to the affections of good, and knowledges of truth, still he inclined to his own; for those who are such as to desire what is their own, begin to despise the things of the Lord, however plainly they may be represented and shown to them.
