10523. 이 장에서 속뜻으로는 이스라엘 민족이라는 주제가 더 계속되는데요, 여기서는 예배에 관하여 그 퀄리티(quality), 즉 교회에 속한 것들에 관한 그 퀄리티에 대한 설명입니다. 1절로 6절에는, 예배와, 그리고 교회에 속한 외적인 것들(the external things)이 표상들(representatives) 안에 있을 수 있지만, 그러나 여전히 거기엔 아무런 신성한 것(anything Divine)이 없었다는 내용이 들어 있습니다. 전혀 내적이지 않았기(not anything internal) 때문이지요. 7절로 17절에는, 예배 그 자체에는, 그 자체로 보았을 때는요, 그들과 분리되어있는, 뭔가 신성한 것이(what is Divine) 있을 수 있다는 내용이, 18절로 23절에는, 그럼에도 불구하고 이런 사실이 그들에게는 보이지도, 지각되지도 않았다(not seen nor perceived)는 내용이 들어있습니다. In this chapter in the internal sense the subject of the Israelitish nation is further continued; but here its quality in respect to worship, thus its quality in respect to those things which are of the church. From verses 1 to 6 there is contained: that although they could be in representatives, which are the external things of worship and of the church, still there was not with them anything Divine, because not anything internal. From verses 7 to 17: that in the worship itself, regarded in itself, thus separate from them, there could be what is Divine. From verses 18 to 23: that nevertheless this was not seen nor perceived by them.

금 송아지 (1-35절, 장 전체, AC.10395-10512)

10393. 이 장에서 설명하고 있는 것은 속뜻으로는 이스라엘 백성 가운데 교회가 세워질 수 없었던 이유는 그들이 무슨 내적인 것 없이 전적으로 외적이기만 했기(they were wholly in externals without any internal) 때문이며, 그들이 천국과 교회의 거룩한 것들을 모독하지 못하도록 그들에게는 내적인 것들이 완전히 닫혔다는 것(to prevent their profaning the holy things of heaven and the church, interior things were completely closed with them)입니다. 이 백성이 여호와 대신 예배했던 ‘금 송아지’(the golden calf)는 이들이 내적인 게 전혀 없이 전적으로 외적이기만 했음을, 그리고 모세가 깨뜨린 증거판들(the tables of the law)과 모세가 그 금송아지를 갈아 그 가루를 물에 타 그들에게 마시게 한 것, 그리고 레위 자손들에 의해 진영 내 삼천 명이 죽임을 당한 것은 이들의 내면이 완전히 닫혔다는 것을, 안 그러면 이들은 천국과 교회에 속한 거룩한 것들을 모독했을 것이라는 사실을 상징합니다. In the internal sense in this chapter there is described that a church could not be instituted among the Israelitish people, because they were wholly in externals without any internal; and that to prevent their profaning the holy things of heaven and the church, interior things were completely closed with them. That this people was wholly in externals without any internal is signified by the “golden calf” which they worshiped instead of Jehovah. And that interior things with them were completely closed, lest they should profane the holy things of heaven and of the church, is signified by the tables of the law being broken by Moses, and by Moses grinding the golden calf and strewing the dust into the waters and giving them to drink, and also by their being slain in the camp by the sons of Levi to the number of three thousand men.

10394. 속뜻으로 좀 더 설명하자면, 비록 그들 가운데 교회가 세워질 수는 없었지만, 그럼에도 불구하고 그들 가운데 표상들(表象, representatives)이 있었다는 것입니다. 이는 교회의 가장 겉모습들(ultimates of the church)인데요, 끝에 가서는 말씀(the Word)으로 기록되기 위해서이며, 말씀은 이들 가장 겉모습들에서 닫혀야 하기 때문입니다. 이런 것들을 모세가 여호와께 간청하는 것으로 상징하고 있습니다. It is further described in the internal sense that although a church could not be instituted among them, there were nevertheless among them representatives which are ultimates of the church, to the end that the Word might be written, which should close in these ultimates. These things are signified by Jehovah’s being entreated by Moses.

10326. 이 장에서 다루는 주제는 그 속뜻으로는, 먼저 주님 사랑의 선과 주님 신앙의 선(the good of love to the Lord and in the good of faith in him) 가운데 있는 사람들로 된 표상교회(表象, a representative church)의 출범입니다. 이는 유다 지파 브살렐과 단 지파 오홀리압에 의해 만들어지게 될 것들에 대한 대략적인 나열로 상징됩니다. 이어 다루는 주제는 표상(representatives)을 통한 주님과 그 교회 간 결합입니다. 이는 거룩하게 지켜졌던 안식일(the sabbath)에 의해 상징되고 있습니다. The subject treated of in this chapter in the internal sense is, first, the setting up of a representative church with those who are in the good of love to the Lord and in the good of faith in him. This is signified by the things summarily enumerated as to be made by Bezalel of the tribe of Judah and Aholiab of the tribe of Dan. Afterward the subject treated of is the conjunction of the Lord with this church by means of representatives. This is signified by the sabbath which was to be kept holy.
