8038. 이 장에서 다루는 주제는 그 속뜻으로는 주님 신앙(faith in the Lord)과 주님에 의해 저주에서 해방된 것을 영원히 기억하는 것(the perpetual remembrance of having been liberated by Him from damnation)입니다. 주님 신앙은 처음 난 것에 관한 신성화(the sanctification of the firstborn)로, 주님에 의한 해방을 영원히 기억하는 것은 유월절 축제(the celebration of the passover)로 각각 상징합니다. In this chapter the subject treated of in the internal sense is faith in the Lord, and the perpetual remembrance of having been liberated by Him from damnation. Faith in the Lord is signified by the sanctification of the firstborn, and the perpetual remembrance of liberation by the Lord is signified by the celebration of the passover.

 

 

8039. 이 장의 후반부와 그 이후 다루는 주제는 영적 교회에 속했던 사람들, 그리고 주님 오시기 전, 천국으로 인도될 때까지 더 낮은 땅에 억류되었던 사람들(who were detained in the lower earth)에 관한 더 많은 준비이며, 이를 위해 그들은 주님이 늘 함께하시는 가운데 먼저 안전하게 저주 한복판으로 보내졌고, 그러고 나서 시험을 받았습니다. 저주를 정면 돌파하는 것은 숲 바다(the sea Suph)를 통과하는 것으로, 시험은 그들이 인도된 광야 생활로, 그리고 주님의 임재는 낮에는 구름 기둥(the pillar of cloud), 밤에는 불기둥(the pillar of fire)으로 상징되고 있습니다. In the latter portion of the chapter, and thereafter, the subject treated of is the further preparation of those who were of the spiritual church and who before the coming of the Lord were detained in the lower earth until they could be introduced into heaven, and that for the sake of this end they were first sent through the midst of damnation in safety, and after this underwent temptations, the Lord being continually present. Transmission through the midst of damnation is signified by the passage through the sea Suph; temptations are signified by that life in the wilderness to which they were led; and the presence of the Lord is signified by the pillar of cloud by day, and of fire by night.
