※ 영적 인간의 자연적 속성을 ‘땅의 모든 짐승’(the wild animal of the earth)과 ‘하늘의 모든 새’(the fowl of the heavens)를 가지고 상징하고 있는데요, 그런 그에게 양식으로 채소와 푸른 풀이 제공되고 있습니다.

30절, 또 땅의 모든 짐승과 하늘의 모든 새와 생명이 있어 땅에 기는 모든 것에게는 내가 모든 푸른 풀을 먹을거리로 주노라 하시니 그대로 되니라 And to every wild animal of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth wherein is a living soul, every green herb for food; and it was so.

동일인, 곧 영적 인간의 자연적 음식을 여기 설명하고 있습니다. 영적 인간의 자연적 속성을 ‘땅의 모든 짐승’(the wild animal of the earth)과 ‘하늘의 모든 새’(the fowl of the heavens)를 가지고 상징하고 있는데요, 그런 그에게 양식으로 채소와 푸른 풀이 제공되고 있습니다. 그래서 시편을 보면, 거기 그의 자연적, 영적 양식 둘 다를 설명하고 있는데요, The natural meat of the same man is here described. His natural is signified by the “wild animal of the earth” and by the “fowl of the heavens,” to which there are given for food the vegetable and the green of the herb. Both his natural and his spiritual food are thus described in David:

그가 가축을 위한 풀과 사람을 위한 채소를 자라게 하시며 땅에서 먹을 것이 나게 하셔서 (시104:14) Jehovah causeth the grass to grow for the beast, and herb for the service of man, that he may bring forth bread out of the earth, (Ps. 104:14)

여기서 ‘가축’(beast)이라는 말이 같은 시편 앞 구절들인 11, 12절에서 언급한 ‘들짐승’과 ‘공중의 새들’ 둘 다를 표현하기 위해 사용되고 있습니다. where the term “beast” is used to express both the wild animal of the earth and the fowl of the heavens which are mentioned in verses 11 and 12 of the same psalm.

11각종 들짐승에게 마시게 하시니 들나귀들도 해갈하며 12공중의 새들도 그 가에서 깃들이며 나뭇가지 사이에서 지저귀는도다 (시104:11-12)

※ ‘씨 맺는 채소’(The herb bearing seed)는 쓰임새(use)와 관련된 모든 진리입니다. ‘열매 맺는 나무’(the tree in which is fruit)는 신앙의 선인데, 여기서 ‘열매’(fruit)는 주께서 천적인 사람에게 주시는 것입니다.

29절, 하나님이 이르시되 내가 온 지면의 씨 맺는 모든 채소와 씨 가진 열매 맺는 모든 나무를 너희에게 주노니 너희의 먹을거리가 되리라 And God said, Behold, I give you every herb bearing seed which is upon the faces of all the earth, and every tree in which is fruit; the tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for food.

‘씨 맺는 채소’(The herb bearing seed)는 쓰임새(use)와 관련된 모든 진리입니다. ‘열매 맺는 나무’(the tree in which is fruit)는 신앙의 선인데, 여기서 ‘열매’(fruit)는 주께서 천적인 사람에게 주시는 것입니다. 반면, ‘씨 가진 나무’(seed producing fruit)는 영적인 사람에게 주시는 것이며, 그래서 ‘씨 가진 나무를 너희에게 주노니 너희의 먹을거리가 되리라’(the tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for food) 하시는 것입니다. 천적 양식을 나무의 열매라 하는 것은 다음 장을 보면 분명한데요, 다음 장에서는 천적인 사람을 다루기 때문입니다. 이걸 확인하기 위해 여기서는 에스겔에서 하신 주님 말씀들만 인용합니다. The “herb bearing seed” is every truth which regards use; the “tree in which is fruit” is the good of faith; “fruit” is what the Lord gives to the celestial man, but “seed producing fruit” is what he gives to the spiritual man; and therefore it is said, the “tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for food.” That celestial food is called fruit from a tree, is evident from the following chapter, where the celestial man is treated of. In confirmation of this we will here cite only these words of the Lord from Ezekiel:

강 좌우 가에는 각종 먹을 과실 나무가 자라서 그 잎이 시들지 아니하며 열매가 끊이지 아니하고 달마다 새 열매를 맺으리니 그 물이 성소를 통하여 나옴이라 그 열매는 먹을 만하고 그 잎사귀는 약재료가 되리라 (겔47:12) By the river, upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, there cometh up every tree of food, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed; it is born again in its month; because these its waters issue out of the sanctuary; and the fruit thereof shall be for food, and the leaf thereof for medicine. (Ezek. 47:12)

‘그 물이 성소를 통하여 나옴이라’(Waters issuing out of the sanctuary)는 ‘성소’(the sanctuary)이신 주님의 생명과 자비를 의미합니다. ‘열매’(Fruit)는 그들의 양식이 될 지혜(wisdom)이며, ‘잎사귀’(the leaf)는 ‘약재료’(medicine)라는 이름으로 쓰임 받게 될 지성(intelligence)입니다. 한편, 영적 양식을 ‘풀’(herb)이라고 하는 건 시편을 보면 나옵니다. “Waters issuing out of the sanctuary,” signify the life and mercy of the Lord, who is the “sanctuary.” “Fruit” is wisdom, which shall be food for them; the “leaf” is intelligence, which shall be for their use, and this use is called “medicine.” But that spiritual food is called “herb,” appears from David:

1여호와는 나의 목자시니 내게 부족함이 없으리로다 2그가 나를 푸른 풀밭에 누이시며 쉴 만한 물가로 인도하시는도다 (시23:1-2) My shepherd, I shall not want; thou makest me to lie down in pastures of herb. (Ps. 23:1–2)

쓰임새 안에 천국의 모든 기쁨이 모이며, 거기에 다 있습니다. 쓰임새는 사랑과 체어리티(charity)의 선인데 천사들이 바로 이 안에 있기 때문입니다. 따라서 모든 천사는 그의 쓰임새만큼, 그리고 쓰임새에 대한 애정만큼 기쁨 가운데 있습니다. In uses all the delights of heaven are brought together and are present, because uses are the goods of love and charity in which angels are; therefore everyone has delights that are in accord with his uses, and in the degree of his affection for use.

※ 천적인 사람(天的, The celestial man)은 천적인 것들(celestial things)로만 기뻐합니다. 그것들이 그의 생명에 맞기 때문인데, 이르기를 천적인 양식(celestial food)이라고 합니다.

천적인 사람(天的, The celestial man)은 천적인 것들(celestial things)로만 기뻐합니다. 그것들이 그의 생명에 맞기 때문인데, 이르기를 천적인 양식(celestial food)이라고 합니다. 영적인 사람(靈的, The spiritual man)은 영적인 것들(spiritual things)로 기뻐합니다. 그 이유 역시 그것들이 그의 생명과 맞기 때문이며, 이번엔 영적인 양식(spiritual food)이라고 합니다. 마찬가지로, 자연적인 사람(自然的, The natural man)은 자연적인 것들(natural things)로 기뻐합니다. 그에게는 이런 것들이 맞기 때문인데, 이르기를 양식(food)이라고 하며, 주로 기억-지식들로 구성됩니다. The celestial man is delighted with celestial things alone, which being in agreement with his life are called celestial food. The spiritual man is delighted with spiritual things, and as these are in agreement with his life they are called spiritual food. The natural man in like manner is delighted with natural things, which, being of his life, are called food, and consist chiefly of memory-knowledges.

※ 기억-지식(memory-knowledge)은 그 출처가 세상인 지식을 말하며, 학습을 통해서 습득, 그 사람 안에 쌓여 있는 지식을 말합니다.

여기서는 영적인 사람을 다루고 있기 때문에, 그의 영적 양식을 표상들(表象, representatives), 즉 ‘씨 맺는 채소’(the herb bearing seed), ‘열매 맺는 나무’(the tree in which is fruit)를 가지고 설명하고 있습니다. 여기 ‘열매 맺는 나무’는 보통은 ‘씨 가진 나무’(the tree yielding seed)라고도 하지요. 그의 자연적 양식은 다음 절에서 설명합니다. As the spiritual man is here treated of, his spiritual food is described by representatives, as by the “herb bearing seed,” and by the “tree in which is fruit,” which are called, in general, the “tree yielding seed.” His natural food is described in the following verse.
